Promotion is one of the the most important thing you need to know about in your Internet Marketing career. If you can't promote you can't make any money

You can have a beautiful website filled with all of the most up to date information and products for your niche. You can have all the bells and whistles but, if you have no traffic you have nothing but a pretty no money making website!

There are a few different promotion techniques that most everyone in the internet marketing business use.

They use PPC ( pay per click) which can be quite costly if you don't learn how to do it right.

You can write articles and submit them to article directory's which can be done for free.

You can advertise in free and paid classifieds.

Most of the search engines have a free submission but you are not guaranteed inclusion, they all have a paid option which can get you included anywhere from right away up to a couple of days.

If you have the money you can buy advertising in popular ezines and even in offline magazines. Most ezines will charge you.

You can start a blog for free and advertise that and use it to drive traffic to your site. You can set up a Squidoo lens to drive traffic to your and blog and site. Click the link and check out Squidoo It's fun and free!

You can go to press release sites and do a press release.

You can go to social bookmarking sites and submit your site or blog link.

You can advertise on Myspace and Facebook.

Get on forums for your niche and set up a signature file with a link to your site and or blog, then participate in forum discussions. Every time you post other forum members will read the posts and see the sig and maybe check out your site or blog.

There are lots of ways to advertise or promote your website depending on how much money you want to spend. If you have a big bankroll to start off with you should have no problem promoting and getting traffic if you do your homework and figure out the best way to spend the cash!
